I have very often chosen to try out brand new destinations, where few people have been before - when I travel / as my hobby / as my profession. In many cases, I have stepped into new tech when it has reached the market in my personal life and in my profession.
I have traveled to destinations in many of my jobs that I would not have chosen to travel to otherwise.
I have been introduced to tech, architecture and ways of working in my jobs that I would not have been able to do otherwise.
Each destination has been different.
Every job has been different even though some of them have initially looked the same on paper. Different architecture / system design / code design / GUI / functionality / requirements / standards / work processes / guidelines / code standards ... You will learn a lot if you choose to find a new job.
The recessions have taken me to new destinations
Every recession that I've been in has taken me to a new destination and/or a new job.
If you dare to jump, recessions are the best to choose, even if you may have to float for a while.
I'm interested in learning and for me jumping to find a new job is a comfort zone.
There is no reason to sit more than 10 years on any low-level job, management or not. If it applies to high-level jobs, I can't say.
New Destinations
New destinations are there to be found, and it's up to you.
